Maintenance Worker
These positions perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. You will perform a minimum of two of the following trades:
Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing, Roofing, Electrical, Cement Finishing, and Masonry. You will receive work orally or through work orders. The instructions are of a general nature, supplemented by your knowledge and understanding of the trade. You are responsible for detailed layout, selection of tools and materials and for accuracy, completeness and adherence to standards. Assigned tasks are performed independently, with no technical assistance. Finished work is checked for adequacy by supervisor. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic). Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
