Compressor Mechanic Intern - Summer 2019

The Compressor Mechanic intern is a maintenance and operations position with a primary purpose of performing basic to routine skill level work under moderate supervision/oversight, in order to clean, check, inspect, repair, maintain, operate and install compressor equipment.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor systems failures
Optimize compressor equipment performance
Stay abreast of advanced compressor and engine theory and maintenance
Comply with all company and customer safety and environmental policies and procedures
Comply with all other company policies and procedures
Complete appropriate paperwork as directed
Perform duties as trainer when requested
Continually hone and develop electronic and computer skills
Present a professional image
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be enrolled in an applicable technical degree program in mechanical field, compression, applied process technology or related field.
Candidate must maintain 2.5 GPA in the degree program.
Physical Requirements:
Must have dexterity in the use of tools and equipment; required to climb about equipment and work at various heights; Able to use physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools
Able to work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position and work in confined spaces; able to bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque
Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads
Must be able to react to conditions, alarms, and beacons using olfactory senses
Work Environment:
Able to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions
Work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment
Work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment
Must wear special safety equipment (PPE) while working

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
